The Water Forum in Mexico just concluded. Even if most of the actors present (states, local collectives, sector professionals, NGOs, multilateral agencies.) salute the quality of the organization and the conviviality of exchanges, in reality the results are quite meager.

World Water Forum in Mexico City : To Promote the Access to Water and the Decontamination in Sahelien Africa- Press release. (16-22 March 2006).

In the present debates on the issues of water, Eau Vive positions itself on four major points: the promotion of the right to water for all, the battle against the privatisation of the resource of water, mutually shared by humanity, the recognition of the cost of water service, the installation of management systems guaranteeing the access to water for all, in particular the most vulnerable populations.

The Fnac in Pau invites you to visit its photography gallery Didier Bayle (Eau Vive Sahel, Pau) exhibits "Burkina Faso" from March 6 to April 1- free entrance. (February 2006).

Copyright D. BayleDidier BAYLE animates since 2003 in the region of Pau the association EAU VIVE SAHEL that supports the projects of village communities in Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Senegal. It was during a mission in Burkina Faso, where he regularly brings the adherents of EAU VIVE SAHEL, that he took the photos that he will exhibit at the photography gallery of the Fnac in Pau. With the obvious ulterior motive of sharing with you his love for Africa.

Eau Vive supports "The Call from French NGOs" at the World Water Forum in Mexico City (16-22 March 2006).

Eau Vive largely participated in the development of this call that is open to all associations wishing to join the list of signatures. The partners and members of Eau Vive are invited, if they would like, to join the list of signatures or those who wish to support the text. For this those who would like this, please send your request directly to Majda Bouchanine: majda.bouchanine@amisdelaterre.org and copying maggie.white@eau-vive.org .

This call will be relayed by the French NGOs, including Eau Vive, present at the next World Water Forum (Official Forum) and to the Citizen Day for the Defence of the Right to Water (alternative/alternating events) that will be held in Mexico City between the 15 and 22 of March. The call was also presented by Eau Vive to the French Partnership for Mexico, initiative multi-actors, in order to be presented on the premises at the level of the French Stand.

Call from French NGOs at the World Water Forum in Mexico City (16-22 march 2006).

French NGOs demand France, the international community, and the ensemble of decision-makers of development to mobilize ambitious means and concrete acts to apply previously made commitments, to adopt an qualitative and equitable approach to problems qualitative and equitable approach to access to water and sanitation problems.

The city of Armentieux donated a check to the NGO, Eau Vive (February 2006)

Friday at the end of the afternoon, the mayor Partick Larribat of the town of Armentieux (Gers), Daniel Carcenat and the action committee of the village received Didier Bayle, regional animator of the NGO, Eau Vive; Liliane Pécunia de Pau et Aurélie Dulau, animator from Gers, in order to hand over to them a check of 313 euros produced by the collection carried out during the Christmas holiday celebration. It is the beautiful example of a small locality who in a spirit of solidarity, organized to bring a little well-being to some far off francophone African villages.

« Eau Vive Pau Antenna » becomes « Eau Vive Sahel » (January 2006)

Starting from 16 January 2006 "Eau Vive Pau Antenna" who represents Eau Vive in the Béarn, Bigorre, Gascogne, Landes and Basque country becomes "Eau Vive Sahel."

The blue book (may, 2005)

The Blue Book : water - life- people, published by the International secretariat for water, aims at reporting on the progress made in the water and sanitation sector towards reaching the Millenium Development Goals. It targets all actors in each country, as well as their international technical or financial parteners.. This publication offers a critical vision of the water and sanitation sector by independently and at regular intervals measuring the progress made and by striving to put forward the opinion of the users and citizens whenever possible. In 2005, the blue books cover three countries: Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.
