MALI
Mali has been engaged in the decentralization process since 1998 which has enabled the political framework to be widened and the administration to be reorganized across the counties (703 counties, mayors, community councils, etc. )
The country is seeing the emergence of true democracy throughout the expression of civil society demands. In this new context, the populations and associations are able to express themselves and are increasingly active players in their own development.
The country is currently engaged in vast poverty reduction programs with three main priorities: to support decentralization, reinforce access to fundamental services (education, health, etc.) and to develop the primary production sector. The State and its partners in development are increasing the dialogue for the support of the population.
EAU VIVE IN MALI
Eau Vive has had an office in Bamako since 1994 as well as a branch in Mopti.
With the new political stakes in the international arena, NGOs are taking a front seat in civil society in the elaboration of new policies, national and international governmental strategies as well as in providing analysis, advice and diverse support.
Eau Vive Mali fulfills this function through an NGO network and through actions of information, communication and education: IEC, meetings with local members of government, Inter-village meetings, meetings with technical partners.
